The Business Sustainability Challenge

Team: 4–6 per team
What: Participants lead a manufacturing company through a fast-changing market and rising sustainability demands. Across multiple decision rounds, they must boost performance, outsmart competitors, and reinvent their business for a greener future. Each product poses unique challenges, forcing teams to innovate, prioritise, and make bold trade-offs. Key learning areas include managing carbon footprint across Scope 1, 2, and 3, applying circular economy principles, navigating EU Green Deal and CSRD frameworks, connecting ESG goals to profitability, identifying sustainability levers in operations, building strategies for long-term resilience, and anticipating investor and regulator demands.
